Full-Time Mixed Veterinary Surgeon, New Graduates Encouraged to Apply

An exciting opportunity is available for a Mixed Veterinarian to join a well-established veterinary practice located in the beautiful coastal town of Laurieton. This long-standing practice has been providing high-quality veterinary care to the local community for over 40 years and offers services across both companion and large animals.

The practice treats a diverse range of species including cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, and wildlife. In addition, the team operates an off-site rural service providing care to horses, cattle, goats, and alpacas. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of mixed veterinary practice within a supportive and experienced team environment.

The hospital features modern, purpose-built facilities, including cat-friendly spaces, fully equipped consulting rooms, diagnostic equipment, and comprehensive on-site pharmacy support. Opening hours are 8:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday, and 8:00am - 1:00pm Saturdays, with no Sunday work.

This position is open to veterinarians at all stages of their career, from new graduates through to experienced clinicians.
New graduates will benefit from a structured graduate development programme designed to support the transition from university into clinical practice. This includes mentored clinical training, professional development, wellbeing support, and guidance in client communication, all within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A positive, proactive, and team-focused attitude
  • A strong desire for ongoing professional development
  • Good organisational and time management skills
