Veterinary Surgeon Up to £80K | No OOH | CPD £5K | 6 Weeks Holiday

Location: Oldbury & Halesowen, West Midlands

What are the hours/rota during the week? Depending on the candidate, I can accommodate 4 or 5 ay week. A normal weekday shift is 9am until 6:30pm (no overtime needed as dedicated OOH team).

A Saturday shift is 9am until 5pm, ideally 1 in ¾ with a day off in the week in lieu.

What is the split between Oldbury and Halesowen? My immediate need is for Oldbury; there may be some occasional holiday cover but perm base will be Oldbury.

Equipment wise at Oldbury, is there anything different to Halesowen? 2 x colour Dopler u/s, digital x-rays, 2 operating theatres, dental kit, 3 standard consult rooms and 1 emergency consult room, dedicated dog and cat holding. I am currently pricing up endoscopes as our vet here prefers the laperotic approach, so should have that in practice within 2 months. We are happy to invest in equipment for specialist vets.

What is the split between consulting and surgery?

Again, this will depend on the candidate. Here at Oldbury, we can do 2 surgeries in a day or 10. The vets generate their own surgeries and can book their own slots. We do not run like most practices; the vets pretty much have full autonomy to book their own cases as they see fit. We do not have dedication consultation and surgery times. This is partly due to us being an emergency practice so we have to be a bit more fluid to take things as they come.

Hours: 4 or 5 days per week | 1 in 4 Saturdays | 9:00am6:30pm

The Role Offers:

• Salary up to £80,000, depending on experience
