Veterinary Surgeon

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, family-owned independent small animal practice near Chesterfield. Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care
• Manage a varied caseload of consultations and surgery
• Work collaboratively with an experienced veterinary and nursing team
• Build strong relationships with clients and provide excellent patient care
• Participate in the Saturday rota
• Undertake occasional sole charge during Saturday shifts

Working Pattern

• Full-time or part-time considered
• Four-day working week
• Typical consulting hours: 9:00am - 7:00pm
• Typical surgery hours: 8:00am - 6:00pm
• 1 in 4 Saturdays (8:30am - 3:30pm)
• No out-of-hours commitments

Practice Facilities

This independent practice operates across two well-equipped sites and provides a varied small animal caseload within a friendly and collaborative environment.

• Scheduled administration time and coffee breaks built into the day
• Experienced clinical team comprising Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses and dedicated support staff

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
• RCVS registration (or eligibility)
• Ideally 3 years or more experience in small animal practice
• Confident with routine consultations and surgery
• Comfortable with occasional sole charge
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Team-focused with a positive and proactive approach
• Passion for delivering high standards of veterinary care
