Are you an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a thriving practice with a large and varied caseload, excellent clinical support and plenty of opportunities to develop your skills?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing small animal practice in the Stockport area, offering an exciting opportunity to join a large, collaborative and supportive clinical team.

The practice has built a strong reputation for high clinical standards and excellent patient and client care, with a loyal client base and a busy caseload providing plenty of variety.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, ideally with 3+ years' post-graduate experience, to join a growing team.

You'll benefit from a diverse caseload and the support of a large clinical team, with no requirement to work in sole charge.

The practice currently sees around 1,000 consultations per week, providing plenty of clinical variety and opportunities to develop your experience across a broad range of first-opinion cases.

The practice also works with several visiting specialists who provide support with more advanced cases, helping to maintain continuity of care for clients while giving the team opportunities to learn and develop.

Visiting specialist support includes:

• Advanced orthopaedics
• Soft tissue surgery
• Diagnostic imaging
• Endoscopy
• Working Pattern
• Full-time position available
• 1 in 4 weekends
• No sole-charge requirement
• 15-minute consultations as standard
• Longer appointments available for second opinions and more complex cases
• Growing practice with scope for further career development

The Team

You'll be joining a large and experienced team of 16 Veterinary Surgeons and around 62 colleagues across the wider practice.

The team has a diverse range of clinical interests and prides itself on working collaboratively to maintain high standards of patient care.

You'll have excellent support from experienced Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs and the wider nursing and animal care team, ensuring you have the resources and guidance required to manage a varied and rewarding caseload.

• Two dedicated surgical theatres
• Dedicated dental room

• Ultrasound
• Access to visiting specialists in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, imaging and endoscopy

• Experienced nursing and animal care team

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Ideally 3+ years' post-graduate small animal experience
• Confident managing a varied first-opinion caseload
• Good general medical and surgical skills
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• Able to work collaboratively within a large clinical team
• Keen to continue developing clinical skills and knowledge
• Enthusiastic about working within a busy and progressive practice
