Salary: £45,000-£65,000 DOE
Full-Time | No Out-of-Hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with a strong surgical interest to join a friendly and supportive practice in Corby.
This role would suit a confident vet with at least two to three years' post-qualification experience, who is comfortable managing consultations, diagnostics and routine surgical procedures independently.
You'll have the opportunity to take the lead on much of the practice's surgical caseload, develop your clinical skills and play an active role in shaping the future of the team. There is also scope to take on additional responsibility, including supporting and mentoring colleagues as the practice continues to grow.
The Role
- Full-time position, working 40 hours per week.
- One in three Saturday rota, working 9am-6pm.
- No out-of-hours or Sunday work.
- Lead on the majority of the surgical caseload.
- Manage consultations, diagnostics and routine surgical procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the wider veterinary and nursing team.
- Opportunity to contribute to clinical protocols and standards of care.
- Potential to take on a leadership and mentoring role within the team.
The Team and Practice Environment
You'll be joining an established and close-knit team comprising two Veterinary Surgeons, five Registered Veterinary Nurses, a Veterinary Care Assistant and four Receptionists.
The practice has recently undergone refurbishment and rebranding, offering a fresh, modern working environment as it enters an exciting period of development.
The team prides itself on creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, where colleagues support one another, share ideas and are encouraged to achieve their professional goals. Management takes an approachable and supportive attitude, with an emphasis on teamwork, open communication and individual development.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with current RCVS registration, or eligibility to register.
- Ideally two to three years' post-qualification experience in small animal practice.
- Strong interest and experience in soft tissue surgery.
- Confident managing routine surgical cases independently.
- Competent in consultations, diagnostics and clinical decision-making.
- Strong communication and client care skills.
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for supporting colleagues.
- Interest in developing leadership skills and contributing to the growth of the practice.
This position requires a degree of clinical autonomy and is therefore not suitable for newly qualified graduates.
Package and Benefits
- Salary of £45,000-£65,000, depending on experience.
- 5.6 weeks' annual leave.
- Paid birthday day off.
- Contributory pension scheme.
- Private healthcare.
- Generous CPD allowance.
- Funding towards certificates for suitable candidates.
- RCVS, BVA and VDS memberships paid.
