J907740 Hinckley
East Midlands £50K
- £65K / Year
Salary from £50k - £65k DOE, 4 Day Week, No OOH, Dedicated Admin Day
Prospect Health is recruiting for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy and supportive small animal practice in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Vet looking for a varied clinical role with a particularly well-structured working week. You'll work just four days per week, with dedicated time for consulting, surgery and administration, helping you manage your caseload without trying to squeeze everything into clinical sessions.
With no out-of-hours and no sole charge, excellent CPD support and a friendly multi-Vet team around you, this is a strong option for an experienced Vet looking for their next move.
The Role
This is a full-time position of approximately 40 hours across four days, with weekday shifts typically running from 8.30am - 8pm.
Your working week is structured to include:
- 1 dedicated administration day
- 2 consulting days
- 1 surgery day
- A consistent four-day working week
- Saturday shifts of 9am - 5pm as part of the rota
- No out-of-hours
- No sole charge
- Having protected administration time is a real advantage, giving you space to manage cases, follow up results and complete clinical administration without it eating into your consulting or surgery time.
- Bank holiday duties are shared fairly across the veterinary team, typically involving approximately three to four bank holidays per year.
About the Practice
You will be joining a busy, modern small animal practice with a large and varied caseload.
The established team includes multiple Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, student nurses and animal care colleagues, providing plenty of support throughout the working day.
The practice is spacious and well equipped, with facilities including:
- Digital X-ray

- In-house laboratory
- Multiparameter monitoring equipment
- Surgical laser equipment
- Suction equipment
- Dedicated equipment for exotic patients
- The practice also has access to additional support for orthopaedic cases and a Vet currently undertaking further qualifications in soft tissue surgery.
- There is an interesting exotics caseload, so Vets with an existing interest in exotics would be welcomed. Equally, CPD can be provided if this is an area you'd like to develop.

We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is comfortable handling a varied small animal caseload.
You will ideally:
- Be confident with routine medical cases
- Be comfortable with routine surgery
- Enjoy a varied first-opinion caseload
- Build strong relationships with clients and their pets
- Work well as part of a wider clinical team
- Be keen to continue developing professionally
- Enjoy supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive practice culture
- An interest in orthopaedics would be particularly useful, although this is not essential.
Professional Development
The practice actively encourages CPD and offers plenty of scope to develop particular areas of clinical interest.
You'll benefit from:
- £1,500 annual CPD allowance
- Support for ongoing professional development
- Opportunities to develop an interest in exotics
- Access to colleagues developing advanced surgical skills
- RCVS fees paid
- VDS fees paid

- Dedicated weekly administration day
- No out-of-hours
- No sole charge
- £1,500 CPD allowance
