Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role where your clinical input is valued and your work-life balance is respected? A progressive small animal practice in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a dedicated and motivated vet to join their expanding team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who enjoys surgery, consultations, and leadership input, with the chance to work closely with the practice owners in shaping clinical services and mentoring colleagues.

About the Practice

The practice has recently relocated to a larger, purpose-built facility, doubling its size and offering state-of-the-art veterinary services. Facilities include:

  • CT scanner for internal referrals
  • Rehabilitation centre with hydrotherapy and physiotherapy
  • Digital radiography and ultrasound
  • In-house laboratory
  • Dedicated surgical and dental suites

The team is supported by an experienced nursing group and approachable management, all committed to high standards of patient care, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

The clinic enjoys a strong community reputation and is recognized for its friendly, collaborative environment where staff feel supported, valued, and able to progress professionally.

The Role

As Veterinary Surgeon, you will:

  • Work full-time or part-time, with flexible arrangements considered
  • Be actively involved in routine surgery and consultations
  • Have opportunities to contribute to clinical development and mentoring
  • Take part in 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am12pm)
  • Have no out-of-hours, Sundays, or bank holiday duties
  • Enjoy protected time for follow-ups, phone calls, and admin

Your input will be encouraged across all aspects of the practice, helping maintain high clinical standards and supporting a positive, team-oriented culture.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in small animal practice, including routine surgery
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident, proactive, and capable of contributing to team development
  • Commitment to delivering excellent patient care and client service
  • Willingness to relocate to Stoke-on-Trent

Benefits

  • Salary up to £65,000 FTE, DOE
  • Flexible working hours (full or part-time considered)
  • 28 days holiday, rising to 33 days after 2 years
