Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon Doncaster

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive small animal practice in Doncaster. This role offers a four-day working week (part-time applicants considered), with no out-of-hours or bank holiday duties, and approximately 1 in 8 Saturday mornings with TOIL.

The practice has a team of 8 experienced vets with a wide range of interests, including medicine, surgery, and diagnostic imaging certificate holders, providing a supportive environment for professional development.

Key Duties

  • Deliver high-quality veterinary care for small animals
  • Perform routine and advanced surgeries, with opportunities to develop specialist surgical skills (including cruciate/patella, laparoscopic, and BOAS procedures)
  • Work with a wide range of diagnostic equipment, including Imagyst, ultrasound, dental radiography, endoscopy, and i-STAT
  • Care for inpatients during dedicated hospital shifts, including emergency cases
  • Tailor your rota to focus on your areas of interest: medicine, surgery, or a combination

Working Pattern

  • Full-time 4-day week, part-time applicants considered
  • No out-of-hours or bank holiday work
  • Approximately 1 in 8 Saturdays (8:0012:30) with TOIL

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

  • BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
  • RCVS registration (or eligibility)
  • Completion of VetGDP and confident performing routine surgeries
  • Positive, collaborative approach and commitment to patient care
  • Keen to continue professional development, including certificate-level support
